Over the past couple of months I have slowly been switching our family to a more Paleo way of eating. When I discovered that not only I have problems with wheat and gluten, but my six year old did as well I knew we had to do something.  I didn't want to completely go cold turkey with him and over the course of two months we have made awesome changes.  My once picky eater has ventured into all types of foods that I have prepared and that makes for one happy mom.  

Before we started this transition all he would ever want to eat was carbs and dairy.  Now he will have one slice of Paleo friendly bread a day and eats tons of fresh veggies, baked veggies, meats, fruits, nuts and I still give him dairy if he asks.  To my surprise, he rarely even asks for that anymore.  His view towards food has changed so much.  We have also seen changes in his sleep patterns, personality and tons more.

Week 8 of Les Mills Pump/Combat Hybrid

I know I have been slack when it comes to workouts lately.  Life has gotten busy and while I haven't fallen off track, I haven't really had time to update everyone here like I would like.  I am currently on week 8 of Les Mills Pump/Combat hybrid and loving every minute of it.   Not only is the workout going fantastic but I have also changed up our eating as I recently discovered that Gluten and Wheat do me no favors at all.

So far during this hybrid I am down one pound (not major but I'm ok with that) and I have lost 1/2" from my upper thigh, 1/2" from my waist and a 1/2" from my lower thigh.  I still have a goal of leaning out more and I know it will come in time.  I mean after all, look at the difference a year can make! The after pictures were taken yesterday.

Finished Week 2 of Les Mills Pump Hybrid

I just wrapped up the end Les Mills Pump/Combat Hybrid and I feel fantastic! I am loving the workouts and still after every Combat workout my body is sore.  I can feel it the most in my shoulders and upper back. I admit though that the workouts are addictive.

My food choices were ok this week. Could they of been better? Yes they could and this coming week they will be a lot better.  No idea why I always have the urge to sabotage my workouts with bad food choices.  I am not doing all this alone but am also part of a Clean Eating Challenge Group and although I avoid the majority of the list that has been presented this week.  My only hard part is going to be with fake sugar.  I don't consume that except on Tuesday's when I have a meal bar on the go.  Time to head out today to pick up what I need to make my own protein bars which are much healthier anyway.

Time sure does fly

I can't believe that I just wrapped up a month of the Les Mills Pump Hybrid.  This was only a 30 day challenge and it involved combining the Les Mills Pump workouts along with the dvd's that are in the deluxe set.  So three days a week I was doing Combat, Step or Sports Attack.  I haven't dropped weight or inches which is no big deal. Usually it takes getting to month two to really start seeing changes. I did noticed that by the end I wasn't struggling to get through the cardio workouts and was able to squat lower and jump higher.

I have decided to not repeat this particular workout but to start a 3-month hybrid for Les Mills Pump and Les Mills Combat.  I kicked that off on Wednesday and was super surprised to find that my upper arms, shoulders and abs were sore today with just throwing punches.  It feels like I did some major lifting which I didn't.  My goal at the end of the three months is to be able to lean out just a tad and maybe shed a bit of the fat that tends to be holding on.

As you all know I have been changing my eating habits and all is going good there.  I am going to start experimenting a little more in that area and hoping to expand my menu.  I am terrible at eating the same thing over and over again. While it's fine for me, it can get a little boring for all of you when I always seem to update with the same menu. :)
